Beyond the day-to-day activities, we will organise special events and celebrations throughout the year to make life at Karuna Care truly joyful. Our home plans to mark all major holidays and cultural festivals with enthusiasm – including Christmas, Eid, Diwali, Easter, Hanukkah, and more – reflecting the diverse backgrounds of our residents. Themed decorations, festive music, and favourite traditional foods will help bring the holiday spirit into the home. Families will be warmly invited to join these celebrations whenever possible. Such holiday-themed activities have proven benefits: they promote social interaction, reduce loneliness, encourage creative expression, and create opportunities for family members to connect with residents in meaningful ways
⦁ Major Holidays: We will celebrate important religious and cultural holidays with appropriate traditions. For example, a cheerful Christmas party with a tree-lighting, carol singing and perhaps a visit from “Santa”; a Diwali celebration with lamps, sweets and music; Eid gatherings with special meals; Hanukkah candle-lighting and treats; and an Easter morning egg hunt or spring crafts. These events will be inclusive and tailored to our residents’ faiths and preferences – ensuring everyone feels the warmth of the holidays.
⦁ Seasonal Events: Throughout the seasons we’ll host fun themed events. In summer, we envision a garden barbecue or picnic – enjoying the sunshine with cold drinks, ice cream, and family visitors, or even some live entertainment outdoors. In autumn, perhaps a harvest festival display or Halloween dress-up for those who enjoy it. Come winter, a cozy winter fair or decorating the home together can bring cheer. We also plan to arrange intergenerational events, like inviting local schoolchildren for a sing-along or craft activity day. These intergenerational visits bring “smiles all around” – residents experience a boost in mood that lasts long after the children have left
⦁ Birthdays & Personal Milestones: Each resident’s birthday will be a special affair. Our staff will organise a little birthday party with a cake, cards and singing, and family members will be encouraged to attend or send greetings.
