Karuna Care London is being prepared as a small residential care home without nursing for up to 9 adults, subject to CQC registration.
The premises include private bedrooms, communal living and dining areas, kitchen facilities, office and staff areas, and suitable bathroom and toilet facilities. The environment is being prepared to support safety, dignity, privacy, comfort and person-centred care.
The service is not yet operational and no residents will be admitted until CQC registration has been granted.
Karuna Care London is being developed as a small, carefully designed home for adults who require support with daily living. The accommodation has been arranged to feel domestic and calm rather than institutional, with an emphasis on privacy, comfort and a sense of personal ownership over space.
Each resident will have a private, generously sized en‑suite bedroom intended for single occupancy. Rooms are furnished to a high standard, including a double bed, wardrobe, bedside cabinet, comfortable seating, desk and chair. Each bedroom also incorporates practical features such as a 55‑inch smart television, a small refrigerator and a sink with worktop, so that residents can enjoy simple refreshments and everyday routines within their own space if they wish. While rooms will be fully furnished on arrival, residents will be encouraged to personalise them with their own pictures, ornaments and belongings, so that the environment feels familiar and genuinely their own.
All bedrooms have their own en‑suite bathroom, fitted with a shower or bath and non‑slip flooring to support safe use. For privacy and security, bedroom doors will be lockable, with staff holding appropriate access for emergencies. Staff are expected to knock and await a response before entering any room, reflecting our commitment to dignity and respect in everyday practice. Taken together, these individual rooms are intended to function as quiet retreats where residents can rest, relax and spend time alone whenever they choose.
Beyond the private rooms, the home includes a series of shared spaces designed to support everyday social life. A bright, welcoming lounge will offer comfortable sofas and armchairs where residents can sit together, talk, watch television or take part in small group activities. The kitchen and dining areas will act as central hubs at mealtimes, providing a homely setting for residents to enjoy freshly prepared food, share conversation and, where appropriate, join in simple household tasks such as baking or helping to prepare snacks.
