Safeguarding Adults and Reporting
Safeguarding is at the heart of Karuna Care London. We are committed to protecting adults from abuse, neglect and avoidable harm, and to creating a culture in which people feel safe, listened to and respected.
Karuna Care London has clear safeguarding policies and procedures, based on the Care Act 2014, local authority guidance and Care Quality Commission (CQC) expectations. These set out what abuse and neglect look like, how concerns must be reported, and how they will be investigated and acted upon. A named Safeguarding Lead (the Registered Manager, subject to CQC approval) and a deputy will be responsible for overseeing all safeguarding matters.
All staff will receive safeguarding training as part of their induction and regular refresher training. They are required to report any concern immediately, whether it arises from something they see, something they are told, or something they suspect. Concerns will never be ignored or dismissed.
If you are worried about your own safety or the safety of someone else, you can speak to any member of staff, the senior on duty or the Manager. If you prefer to raise concerns outside the service, you may contact Hillingdon Council’s Safeguarding Adults Team, the Care Quality Commission, the police (if a crime may have been committed), or an independent advocate. Contact details will be provided in the Service User Guide and on noticeboards in the home.
Karuna Care London will not tolerate any retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith. Every concern will be taken seriously, recorded, and responded to in line with our policies and with local authority procedures.
Regulatory status: Karuna Care London is currently progressing through CQC registration and is not yet open to residents. The safeguarding arrangements described on this page reflect our intended practice and will be fully implemented once registration and all necessary approvals have been granted.
