Introduction

Karuna Care London Limited is founded on the principle of genuine compassion. The word “Karuna” itself denotes compassion, and we use it as the measure for how we intend the organisation to think, to speak and to act. The company has been established by professionals from health, social care and wider public service backgrounds who share a commitment to creating a safe, calm and thoughtfully run home for adults who require support in their daily lives.

Our first service is currently in development and progressing through the process of Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration. During this preparatory phase we are concentrating on the less visible but critical aspects of care: governance, policies, staff training and the physical environment. The aim is that, once residents move in, they are welcomed into a setting that is already stable, well organised and able to offer consistent, person‑centred support.

We are committed to delivering high quality care that is tailored to the individual rather than driven by routine. In practice this means understanding each person’s needs, preferences and life history, involving them and those important to them in decisions about how support is provided, and working in genuine partnership with local authorities and other professionals. Karuna Care London intends to meet, and in time to exceed, the standards set by the CQC and by Hillingdon Council for safe and well‑led services.

Safeguarding, risk management and quality assurance are being built into the service from the outset. Our policies and procedures are being aligned with CQC’s fundamental standards so that care is designed to be safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. We expect these standards not only to be documented, but to be visible in day‑to‑day practice once the home becomes operational.

Mission: Our mission is to offer outstanding, compassionate support that preserves the dignity and wellbeing of every person who comes to live with us. We aim to provide a homely atmosphere where each individual is recognised, listened to and valued in their own right. By delivering care with empathy, respect and professional competence, we intend to help residents live with as much comfort, purpose and independence as their circumstances allow, enriching their quality of life on an everyday basis.

Vision: Our vision is for Karuna Care London to become a trusted and respected presence within UK adult social care: a small provider known for thoughtful governance, strong professional standards and a genuinely humane approach. We aspire to develop supported living and residential services that grow carefully rather than quickly, maintaining high standards of person‑centred care and full regulatory compliance as we do so.

In the longer term we aim to achieve strong CQC ratings, to work closely with Hillingdon Council and other commissioning authorities as a reliable partner, and to make a positive contribution to the wider community through example and collaboration. By continually investing in our people and embracing evidence‑based best practice, we intend to demonstrate that compassion and quality are not competing priorities, but the foundation of good care.
