Karuna Care London recognises that high quality care is never delivered in isolation. It depends on close, honest partnership with local authorities, regulators and health services. As we develop our first service, we are committed to working constructively with the London Borough of Hillingdon, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), local NHS teams and wider adult social care networks so that our work fits clearly within local and national expectations.
Although formal registration and commissioning arrangements are still in progress, we are already aligning our policies and procedures with local authority standards. In particular, we have been reviewing Hillingdon Council’s adult social care guidance and incorporating relevant requirements into our internal documents from the outset. Once the service is operational, we expect to participate in Hillingdon’s quality monitoring, contract compliance and safeguarding processes as a matter of routine.
In parallel, while we are applying for registration, we are designing the service to reflect the principles of the CQC’s regulatory framework. We are preparing as if an inspection could take place at any point, using CQC’s published standards and tools to assess our own readiness and to shape our governance systems, staff training and quality audits.
Our collaboration will also involve health partners and NHS safeguarding teams. Where concerns arise that have a health or safeguarding dimension, we will work with GPs, community nurses, hospital teams and local safeguarding practitioners to plan safe responses, share relevant information appropriately and protect residents’ welfare.
We intend to take an active role in local adult social care forums and networks, such as provider meetings, care home or supported living associations, and events organised by the local Safeguarding Adults Board or commissioning teams. Participation in these groups will help us stay informed about emerging best practice, forthcoming changes in procedures and opportunities for joint training or service development. It also underlines our willingness to accept external scrutiny and support.
As a future provider, we welcome oversight rather than resist it. We aim to maintain open channels of communication with Hillingdon Council officers, CQC inspectors and other statutory partners, seeking advice where needed and responding promptly to feedback. By working in this way, Karuna Care London intends to establish itself as a trusted and accountable part of the local care system, clearly aligned with the standards expected of modern adult social care services.
